The Ethiopian private equity market is entering an exciting phase of investors flocking to seek investment opportunities in the booming economy. On November 23rd, 2017, Enterprise Partners (EP) in partnership with Zemen Bank hosted the first of twelve equity capital awareness raising workshops at the new Intercontinental Hotel. There were over 85 participants coming together from private equity firms, banks, government ministries, research institutes, investment advisors and local private companies. A testimonial opening remark was delivered by Mr Hailu Eshetu, General Manager of MB PLC to sharing his insights and experiences in the market. The workshop was facilitated by Lucy Partners, as they highlighted the key processes of raising funds from private equity firms. The purpose of the event was to allow attendees to engage, interact and learn more, in order to utilise the professional services available. In turn, creating an efficient investment advisory service within the private equity market that will support private companies to operate at greater capacities.

The workshop was followed with a 15 minute greet-and-meet session called the “Investors Speed Dating (ISD)”, on November 28th, 2017. Presenting a unique opportunity to promote their businesses, 35 investees attended and were matched with 7 investors.
